For those of you just tuning in, This is the start of 'The Village of Hawk Run Hollow' by Carriage House Samplings, block 4. I am stitching it on 36ct lakeside linen (not sure of the exact color) with NPI, 2 strands over 2. I love the look of the 2 strands on 36ct, very full. I love silk! The colors in the picture (as you all know) dont do this piece justice, or any piece for that matter. I pull the colors for each square as I am going off my ring and I am always anxious to see what colors are going to be used where and for what! It doesnt take much to excite me.... :)
We have a wedding to go to this weekend, and I am trying to see what I can do about scheduling time in today for some stitching. At least I already know what I am going to wear, that is a HUGE help!!
I just love reading your comments and appreciate them so much. So funny too, LOL!! Thank you!

Shannon, there you go again, stitching at the speed of light!!! As for colors and fibers being pulled, I do that all of the time, I get very excited too. Part of the artist creativity, isn't it? LOL Just beautiful so far, this square, and I will be anxious to hear how you built in some stitching time! I am trying to decide how to do that myself this weekend, maybe I will just hide in the nursery?
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love working with silks too.
ReplyDeleteMy LNS is hosting a CHS trunk show and you are right the pictures don't do the pieces justice.
When I see your WIP it makes me want to start working on mine again, but I've been caught up in the Shores. I like the depth of the two over two on 36 ct. looks. Very nice!!
ReplyDeleteThe color in the house is spectacular!!!! Love it and am really enjoying your progress updates. Have fun at the wedding!
ReplyDeleteYour Village is beautiful! The silks have such a rich color. I hope to stitch this wonderful design someday and seeing your work makes me want to use silks, too. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! LOL about being excited at pulling the silk colors and seeing what's being used. I am the same... like a special treat when it all comes together. ;) Enjoy the wedding--hope you get some stitching time in!
