Hoopalooza

In my last post of Double Dee, I had a great comment asking me about the hoops I use for stitching.  As a matter of fact Michelle, your timing couldn't be better :)  I received an order today which included some new hoops. They are Hardwicke Manor Hoops from England.  A Friend of mine recommended these to me several years ago, and I have not looked back since.

They come in several sizes, my favorite is the 6" for my every day stitching and they also have the 4" and the 5" for smaller pieces and they are great for traveling.  I bought a few more for my stash because I like a hoop with the WIPS I am working on, and it seems that lately I grab my super cute project bag, and I am hoop-less.

Also, the quality of these hoops is like no other, and I want to make sure that I have several on hand, you never know :)

I also received a few other goodies, but most exciting is the newest color in the Society of Soie Surfine silk/linen club.  Of course, the color in the picture is not near the beauty that it really is, so pale, slightly mint, but a hint of sage?!  I am the worst in comparisons, but you can get an idea.  Not in the club?  Check out www.societyofsoiesurfine.blogspot.com and read all about it!!  Simply gorgeous!!!

PS:  Thanks to the best shipping manager there is......no squishing :)

  3. Yay! Thanks so much for answering my question. I knew I'd never seen hoops as nice as yours and meant to ask you then, but got distracted. I'm thinking I may have to try out a hoop!

  4. I absolutely LOVE these hoops!!! I couldn't find them for the longest time but started with an OVAL one and it is my very favorite! They can be pricey but so worth the $$$. I have used a hoop my whole stitching career and have never had linen or stitch problems....these are the creme dela creme of hoops!!!! pj

  5. Very nice hoops! I stitch in hand for most projects, but sometimes use a hoop. I will certainly look into these since they sound so wonderful.

  6. Where is an updated picture of your double dee? I do need to know how much progress you have made since I hear from a little birdie that you are trying to make sure to be the first one done! :-) L.

  7. Can you please tell me where you ordered your hoops? I'm in England and haven't found a supplier. Considering they are made in Germany it seems absurd to order from the States to be shipped to England and to have to pay the considerable shipping cost and import duty.
Thank you for any help you can give.

  8. Hello Helen, I too love these hoops but being in the states, I order them here. Both Attic Needlework and Acorns and Threads is where I buy my hoops. I cant imagine shops in Europe not carrying them but stranger things happen. I know that both shops mentioned above are more then willing to send you some if need be. Good luck in your hunt to find these fantastic Hardwick Hoops!!!!! They are simply the best and worth every penny :)))
